É verdade! Depois do quilt que fiz para o Carlos este Natal, fiquei com uma grande vontade de fazer um para mim usando tecidos pré-cortados que fui coleccionando ao longo do tempo com o objectivo de fazer um half-square triangle quilt.
Ao longo do tempo fui coleccionando alguns fat quarters que combinassem entre si. O tecido de referência foi o das raposas! Tenho uma paixão inexplicável por raposas, há tecidos lindíssimos com raposas e um dia hei-de fazer este ou este quilt!
Mas por outro lado, eu sempre quis fazer um half-square triangle quilt de fundo branco para mim!
Por isso, juntei mais alguns padrões que fui encontrando e agora estou pronta para avançar para o meu quilt. Não vou usar um modelo concreto. Mais uma vez vou fazer adaptações daqui e dali, calcular as geometria dos cortes e avançar! Já o fiz anteriormente no quilt de quadrados e sinto que consigo introduzir mais alguma complexidade ao meu próximo quilt com pequenos blocos de half-square triangles.
Os tecidos foram adquiridos em locais muito diferentes e é incrível como eu não esqueci a sua origem e, por essa razão haverá mais histórias para contar sobre este quilt no momento em que ficar pronto!
O tecido das raposas comprei em Lisboa na At Home Hobby.
O das cruzes comprei na City Quilter em Nova Iorque (prometo fazer um Creative Tour post sobre esta viagem).
Estes quatro foram comprados Na Ponta d’Agulha, a minha loja de tecidos de eleição e onde a Isabel está sempre pronta para partilhar comigo a sua sabedoria!
E estes três foram comprados numa loja de crafts em Linkoping na Suécia (vou escrever um Creative Tour post sobre isto também).
Estes nove tecidos vão ser combinados com um tecido branco e só depois de fazer os 120 blocos é que vou decidir como os distribuir, embora não queira ser demasiado exigente nesta questão!
Têm conselhos, propostas de modelos para mim?
E alguém sabe que tecido é aquele das raposas? Por mim usava-o no backing mas não estou a conseguir encontrá-lo em lado nenhum e não há referência de marca ou designer nas ourelas…
It’s true! Since I made the quilt for Carlos this Christmas that I have this big desire to make one for myself using pre-cut fabrics that I have been collecting over time with the aim of making a Half-square triangle quilt.
Over time I have been collecting some fat quarters that might combine with each others. The reference fabric was the one with the foxes! I have an inexplicable passion for foxes! Inexplicable is the word because I really don’t know why I love them so much! Foxes are, for sure, my favourite animal. Well, there are beautiful fabrics with foxes and someday I’ll do this or this quilt!
But on the other hand, I always wanted to make a Half-square triangle quilt a white background for me!
So I’ve put together some more fabrics I found and now I’m ready to move on to my quilt. I will not use a pattern again. Once again I will make adaptations from here and there, calculate the geometry of the cuts and move forward! I have done this previously in the Game in the Woods quilt and I feel that I can introduce some more complexity to my next quilt with this small blocks of Half-square triangles.
The fabrics were purchased in very different places and it is amazing how I did not forget their origins! For that reason there will be more stories to tell about this quilt in the end!

These nine fabrics will be combined with a white fabric and only after doing the 120 blocks will I decide how to distribute them, although I do not want to be too picky about this issue!
Do you have advice, pattern proposals for me?
And does anyone know what fabric is that of the foxes? I really loved the idea of using it in the backing but I can not find it anywhere and my cut has no brand reference or designer in the selvages…
